Looking for an antique car and trying to find a deal? Look no further than the auction house! If you have little competition, you can get some automobiles for a steal and most others at a reasonable rate compared to the actual estimated value. Just as there are different qualities to different cars, there are different qualities to the car auctions. With an estimated 9 million cars sold through auction every year, you’ll probably find what you are looking for there.
Barrett-Jackson
Barrett Jackson auctions have been around for over 40 years with attendees from all over the world. With their reputation, a car enthusiast would feel right at home and confident in finding something to add to their collection.

Gooding and Company
While their auctions are smaller, they have had some truly reputable sales, such as the 1936 Bugatti Type 57SC Atlantic for $31 Million and the 1997 McLaren F1 for over $8.4 Million.

The Mecum Auction Company
After holding its first auction in 1988, the Mecum Auction Company has solidified its name among other great exotic and antique car auctions. They were a family owned company, using the Rockford Airport for their first auction. They introduced a new rule to the auctions called the Mecum Rule: “If a reserve is not met, then the highest bidder is asked to meet the reserve. If they agree, then the vehicle is considered sold to the highest bidder.”
