The Amazing Car Collection of Queen Elizabeth II

(RareCarMarket.com) – The recent passing of Queen Elizabeth II undoubtedly shocked the world and left a hole in the hearts of millions. While the death of Her Majesty is tragic, it has offered the world a chance to see her life like never before. One aspect of the Queen’s life many often overlook was her love for cars, which she had an extensive collection of. Here’s a brief look into some of her magnificent rides.

A Pair of Bentleys

The Queen was no stranger to luxury and her cars were no exception. Her Majesty had several Bentleys in the royal garage. However, two stood out from the rest. One was the state limousine, a custom Bentley Mulsanne, worth a whopping $11 million. The other was a Bentley Batayga, the first one the company sold.

Most Impressive

While the Queen had a fleet full of Rolls-Royces and Bentleys, perhaps one of the most impressive cars in her collection is a Daimler Super V8 LWB. This vehicle came with communications on board to allow Her Majesty to contact anyone on the go. The Daimler also came with a center armrest for her handbag and a custom set of wheels.

Wine and Cheese Aston Martin

The Queen purchased a 1965 Aston Martin DB6 Volante for her son Charles, who is now King. Aside from the fact it belongs to a member of the Royal Family, the Aston Martin wasn’t much different from others. That is until you take into account the fact the prince had the vehicle converted to run on wine-based bioethanol.

Her Majesty’s Favorite

While the above cars are undoubtedly impressive, the Queen’s favorite vehicle to drive was actually a 2002 Land Rover Defender. Of course, she had the vehicle customized to fit her needs, including a raised suspension to make driving across her estate easier. The Defender was only one in a long list of Land Rovers the Queen had throughout her seven decades in power.

The Queen’s extensive collection is estimated to be worth around £14M ($16M USD), not including the Bentley state limousine. Much of this collection will likely be handed over to now-King Charles III as he takes over after the death of his mother.
