(RareCarMarket.com) – Many celebrities have extensive — and often expensive — car collections. However, not many are doing what “Iron Man” himself is. Robert Downey Jr. is starring in a new Discovery+ series where his team will modify cars from his personal collection. Still, this is more than a typical restoration show.
This new series, with the working title “Downey’s Dream Cars,” will be Downey’s second unscripted series on Discovery+ (the first, “The Bond,” dealt with the connection between humans and animals). This time, he’s taking on car restoration projects, but with a twist; the show is also about working on the environment. The production company, called Team Downey, consists of Robert, his wife Susan, and Boat Rocker’s Matador Content.
Team Downey will create eco-friendly cars as they revive classics. The “Iron Man” actor explained his goal is to show how it’s possible to restore cars with new tech and innovation while still maintaining their integrity. The team will be updating some of the actor’s own rides for the 21st Century while also showing off the style and power that made them classics in the first place.
Nancy Daniels, the chief brand officer of Discovery and Factual, expressed how excited the service is to bring a series together using Downey’s love for the environment as a focal point.
Warner Bros. Discovery will launch “Downey’s Dream Cars” in late 2022.
