America's Most Popular Yearly Classic Car Shows

(RareCarMarket.com) – There’s no doubt about it; car shows are a hit in America. It’s where people can go to see classic rides and enjoy talking to their owners about the history of their builds. These events have grown and improved since the first one took place in 1900 at New York City’s Madison Square Garden. The decades between then and now have brought new and innovative automobiles, yet there’s still something to be said about those older models — many of which you can find on display at some of the most popular shows in the country.

Cruisin’ the Coast

Back in 1996, organizers started this show in Gulfport, Mississippi and haven’t looked back. Cruisin’ the Coast is one of the most unique car shows on the planet. Not only is it a popular place for owners to exhibit their rides, but it claims to be “America’s largest block party,” a title it has earned as the event spans 29 miles on Highway 90 with various locations throughout. Attendees will find cars, food, vendors, and entertainment.

Lonestar Round Up

Just minutes from downtown Austin, Texas, drivers and spectators come together to enjoy a weekend festival full of music and, more importantly, cars. The Lonestar Round Up doesn’t just commemorate automobiles, it also celebrates history, culture, and art. The festival is also something for the whole family to enjoy — not just gearheads and enthusiasts.

Woodward Dream Cruise

This show started off with humble beginnings and was part of an effort to raise money for a soccer field in Ferndale, Michigan, back in 1995. Organizers hoped at least 25,000 people would show up. However, the turnout blew their expectations out of the water as more than 250,000 made their way to the event.

Since then, the show has only expanded. Now, an estimated 1.5 million people and 40,000 vehicles from across the globe come to the Woodward Dream Cruise, making it the largest one-day car show in the world. What better place to celebrate such an event than the Motor City itself, Detroit, Michigan?

No matter what part of the country you hail from, there are most likely lots of local and regional shows. You can get your ride show-ready and be a participant or just a visitor enjoying the sights. Either way, you’re bound to have a good time.
